DJ Switch

Anthony John Culverwell aka DJ Switch aka Tony '3 Times' – so called for his three back-to-back world DJ championship titles – began moving records at the tender age of 11 but has since conquered the world over with his scratching superpowers & hasn't looked back.

Not to be confused with nemesis Dave 'MajorLazerBeyonceTheOtherSwitch' Taylor, this Switch defines himself through live performance & versatility. He's done regular guest contributions for 1Xtra, Radio 1 & the BBC Asian Network, shared the stage with luminaries from Professor Green to Public Enemy, performed at clubs, cinemas, cricket matches & churches.

Anthony was first introduced to early SC3900 samples in early 2012 and was so impressed that he agreed to become the official Denon DJ endorsee:

“The 9-inch platter makes scratch moves more nimble by being that little bit smaller, but maintains the perfect amount of space to grip it, scratching & mixing tracks feels no different than using vinyl”

The flexibility of the SC3900, crossed with its ability to so accurately emulate Vinyl in a digital player, meant that Anthony was soon out performing with the SC3900s as his player of choice- the ideal alternative to Vinyl.

“Doing DMC-style hard-core scratch sets are made so much easier without worrying about needles & skipping records”

From his involvement in the Alternative Dubstep Orchestra to heading up the forefront of the burgeoning Electro Swing scene, Anthony can turn his hands to anything & everything.
